Juneteenth Mural, Mansfield TX

The City of Mansfield has commissioned Ratu Adil to create a mural for the Juneteenth celebration in 2024. The mural uses vibrant colors that symbolize black freedom and unification. During the creative process, Ratu Adil invited the audience of the Mansfield Juneteenth celebration event to participate in painting and expressing their artistic side on the mural. Ratu didn't require the audience to follow the original designs she created but gave them the freedom to express themselves. Afterwards, she incorporates the marks made by the audience and combines all the elements into a harmonious design. This mural serves as a beautiful reflection of the community coming together to honor and celebrate freedom through art, love, kindness, and unity.
